Weapon Attribute Requirements
Earlier today in Asacalon i saw someone trying to sell a req 6 hammer. The sad thing was that he wasn't ever going to sell that, because almost everyone only gets max damage weapons.
It would be nice if players actually had to kind of buy a weaspon that has that attribute requirement. What iam saying is that players should not be able to use a weapon/weild a weapon if their attribute level does not meet the requirement.
The newer players would have something to sell and they could get money by themselves instead of begging, also, more fun lvling. It would be more of an achievement to level. Newer players could say they are selling and actually sell their items that they take their time in finding and collecting. Instead of having to sell it to the merchant because no one wants it. Even the lvl 20s could make use of this, because when you go out on a mission you find some lower lvl weapons, a person could sell that if this suggestion was put into play.
Now, there is an exception. If a player is lvl 20, they can use any requirement. I know some people use higher Qs for certain things.
Votes? Comments? Ideas?
Thanks

This is really just an extremely pointless idea, non-max weapons are always going to be merch food, that's just the way it is. You may as well just tell the req6 hammer guy that he's never going to sell it.
Also, at low levels using max weapons is still fine even if you don't meet the req, as even the half damage you get from them will beat the max damage of the earlier weps you get.

The game isn't about leveling. 98% of guild wars characters are level 20. Theoretically the game doesn't "really" start until level 20.
Also i read your post like 4 times over and still don't really understand what you're trying to say. You're saying how things should be, when they're already like that.

That destroys a whole part of the game/economy. Caster weapons would be obsolete, and so now high-req items would be the weapons not selling, but the non-max crappy ones *might* sell? Sounds like a bad tradeoff, imo.

Honestly the only problem I see here is the lack of education to the newer player.
A warrior with 6 atts in Hammer is only going to do 18 dmg at the maximum witha Req 9 max Dmg Hammer, as Dmg is halved if you don't meet the Req.
A Warrior with 6 atts in Hammer is going to do 25 Dmg at the maximum with a Req 6 5-25 Dmg hammer
IF the newer player knew that you only get half the damg from a weapon or half the energy/armor form an offhand lower req non max items would have more value in the game, and your friend could sell his Hammer to a Warrior that is as of yet able to apply a minimum of 9 to his Hammer Atts.
EXAMPLE: When I play Oath Shot Traper, I use a Candy Cane bow, because I've no points in Marksmanship, so I get 15 Dmg, as opposed to 14 max with any othe bow.

Thing is, most weapons in the game are merch food. Live with it.
